ON WEDNESDAY 08 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 00:41 A business in Rink Street, Central was burgled. The suspects smashed the front window and gained entry. They made off with a computer tower.
@ 01:47 A business in Kempston Road, Korsten had an attempted burglary. The suspects smashed a window. The owner could not meet the Response Officers on site therefore they could not determine whether entry was gained.

ON TUESDAY 07 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 02:07 While patrolling, the Response Officers saw a taxi that has allegedly been involved in numerous burglaries. They informed the police, who pulled the taxi off the road in Bluewater Bay. They searched the vehicle and found 7 occupants lying on the floor in the taxi. The police arrested the men and took them into custody for questioning.
@ 02:07 A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue, North End was burgled. The patrolling Response Officers noticed the burglary and notified the police as it is not an ATLAS client. The suspects smashed the front window and broke the security gate.
@ 03:11 An armed robbery took place at a business in Grahamstown Road, Deal Party. The security guard reported that four suspects, armed with knives and balaclavas entered the business and unexpectedly approach him. They tied up the guard with cable ties and robbed him of his cash, cell phone, wallet and two way radios. They fled soon after the robbery. No one was injured during the robbery.
@ 07:36 A business in Pyott Street, Sydenham was burgled. The suspects smashed the main office window and gained entry. They made off with a computer screen and an undisclosed amount of cash.
@ 07:53 A business in Kempston Road, Korsten was burgled. The suspects smashed the boardroom window but no entry was gained. They leaned through the window and pulled out a laptop.
@ 09:43 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency at a residence in Aylesbury Road, Greenshields Park. The client had a heart attack. The Response Officers assisted until the ambulance arrived. The paramedics confirmed that the owner passed away.
@ 16:02 A residence in Zenios Place, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open the window and gained entry. They made off with a laptop.
@ 16:44 A business in Commercial Road, Sidwell had an attempted roof burglary. The suspects lifted the roof plate and but no entry was gained.
@ 17:04 A suspect was trespassing at a business in Essex Street, Korsten. The Response Officers arrested the suspect in the yard. No entry was gained into the building.
@ 23:02 A business in Bird Street, Central was burgled. The suspects broke the window but the burglar bars were still intact. No entry was gained.

ON MONDAY 06 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 00:10 A business in Westview Drive, Mill Park had an attempted burglary. The suspects forced open the garage door and gained entry. They then tried to force open flat door but did not succeed.
@ 02:16 A residence in Main Road, Walmer was burgled. The owner arrived at home and found the suspect inside her house. He was armed with a firearm and gained entry by forcing opens the burglar bars and window. The suspects fled when they saw the owner.
@ 03:36 A Outeniqua Street, Kamma Heights homeowner reported that a suspect was sleeping inside his car. The suspect was under the influence and wanted to attack the owner. The Response Officer detained the suspect until the police arrived.
@ 04:41 A business in Church Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects entered via the sliding door and made off with a laptop and digital camera.
@ 08:59 An armed robbery took place at a premises in Uitenhage Road, Sydenham. Four suspects entered through the main gate and forced the security guard to walk to the back of the premises. Three suspects were armed with firearms and the fourth suspects carried pepper spray. They took two briefcases and fled. The Response Officers arrested one of suspects and recovered the two stolen briefcases. No one was injured during this incident.
@ 12:26 A residence in Tiran Road, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects broke the bathroom window and forced open the burglar bars. Entry was gained and they made off with a laptop and IPOD.
@ 12:27 A business in Strand Street, Central was burgled. The suspects entered the courtyard and broke a window. The owner could not confirm whether anything was damaged/stolen as the premises were empty.
@ 21:57 A taxi filled up with petrol in Cape Road, Newton Park and paid with a fake R100.00 note. The police attended to the incident.
@ 22:55 A business in Torquay Street, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open the entrance door and proceeded to break into two businesses inside the building. They forced open the doors and stole two computers, a laptop, watches and a stove. According to an eyewitness, a bakkie with four occupants were involved in the burglary.

ON SUNDAY 05 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 02:40 A residence in Jeffrey Street, Miramar had an attempted burglary. The suspects tried to break through the front door but no entry was gained.
@ 03:18 A business in Clevedon Road, Mount Croix was burgled. The suspects forced open the front door and gained entry.
@ 07:14 A vagrant was assaulted infront of a business in Kohler Street, Perseverance. The vagrant had 7 stab wounds to his head and fingers. The police and the ambulance attended to the incident.
@ 09:16 Thieves broke into a vehicle parked in Birdlip Avenue, Linkside. The suspects smashed the windscreen and stole the car radio. They also tried to force open the garage window but did not succeed.
@ 16:47 A business in Cape Road, Newton Park was burgled. The suspects gained entry into the store room and stole clothing.
@ 20:01 A residence in Erasmus Drive, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open the sliding door and also broke the front window. They gained entry and made off with a stove, TV, bedding and a decoder.
@ 20:07 A business in Peal Street, Central was burgled. The Response Officer and security guard managed to arrest one of the suspects. They gained entry into the building by smashing the front window. They made off with a TV and DVD’s. Some of the other stolen goods were recovered.

ON SATURDAY 04 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 01:24 The patrolling Response Officers noticed that a fire started in West Road, Walmer. They assisted to extinguish the fire and notified the fire department.
@ 02:10 A business in Victoria Drive, Walmer was burgled. The suspects forced open the right hand side of the building. The Response Officers arrived and found 5 suspects running towards the nearby bush. They managed to arrest two of the suspects.
@ 02:58 A business in Sixth Avenue, Walmer was burgled. The suspects forced open the window and the burglar bars. It appears that the suspects used a piece of wood to force open the burglar bars. Entry was gained and they made off with a flat screen monitor and tower.
@ 03:10 Thieves tried to steal mags from a vehicle parked in front of business in Mangold Street, Newton Park.
@ 12:30 A residence in Erith Street, Mount Croix had an attempted burglary. The suspects forced open the back wooden door but no entry was gained.
@ 13:40 An armed robbery took place at a business in Sebastian Street, North End. Five suspects were hiding when a delivery truck stopped at the gate. They susprized the driver and gun pointed them. They forced them into the premises and demanded them to hand over all the money and alcohol. The suspects fled and no one was injured during this incident.
@ 13:22 A suspicious person tried to the gate of a residence in Bradshaw Street, Mount Croix. The Response Officers arrived and as they approached the man, he collapsed and started shaking. The police attended to the incident.
@ 16:44 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency at a residence in Club Road, Walmer. The owner’s son fell off his bicycle and injured his head. They assisted him until the ambulance arrived.

ON FRIDAY 03 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 00:10 An attempted hijacking took place in River Road, Walmer. The owner arrived at home and heard a gun shot. He saw suspects in his yard, who was trying to kill him. The owner opened fire at the suspect, but the fled empty handed.
@ 01:04 A business in Mountview Drive, Malabar was burgled. The suspects smashed the front glass door and gained entry. They stole money, alcohol and cigarettes.
@ 04:05 A residence in Galpin Road, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open the lounge window and kicked in the burglar bars. The owner was not sure whether entry was gained.
@ 07:02 A business in Parliament Street, Central was burgled. The suspects smashed the front window and gained entry. The suspects made off with two flat screen monitors.
@ 09:34 Thieves stole a cell phone from a residence in Pearson Street, Central. The suspects pulled a cell phone through the bedroom window.
@ 15:49 A member of the public was robbed in Beach Road, Humewood. Two suspects armed with a knife robbed the resident. The police managed to arrest one of the suspects.
@ 16:35 An armed robbery took place at a business in Harrower Road, North End. Seven suspects entered the store and tied up the staff. They shot the owner and some of them fled in a taxi. One of the suspects jumped onto a bakkie. The police arrested the suspect who jumped onto the bakkie. The owner of the business was shot and taken to the hospital.
@ 21:51 The patrolling Response Officers were approached by a lady and man in Carnoustie, Crescent, Linkside who claimed that they were robbed and assaulted by vagrants. The lady was bleeding badly and showed the police and Atlas where the vagrants were hiding. They managed to arrest one of the vagrants.
@ 23:57 A member of the public was assaulted in front of a business in Govan Mbeki Avenue, North End. The Response Officer found the man who was bleeding badly. The police attended to the incident.

ON THURSDAY 02 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 01:20 A business in Valley Road, Brickmakers Kloof was burgled The suspects jumped over the wall and smashed the alleyway window. They gained entry and took a money box containing less than R20.
@ 03:22 A residenece in Pier Street, South End had an attempted burglary. The suspects tried to force open the back door but did not succeed.
@ 04:14 Thieves broke into a vehicle in Neville Road, Westering. The suspects broke a window and stole a pair of sunglasses.
@ 04:19 A residence in Piere Street, South End was burgled. The suspects broke into the garage and stole a tool box. The suspect fell and dropped the toolbox and fled empty handed.
@ 05:41 A business in Watt Street, Deal Party was burgled. The suspects broke the window close to the latch and gained entry. They stole a laptop and monitor.
@ 07:25 A business in Kempston Road, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects smashed a window and gained entry. The made off with two small LCD monitors.
@ 14:06 A residence in Second Avenue, Newton Park was burgled. Three suspects gained entry into the premises. The police arrested all three suspects and the stolen goods were recovered.
@ 14:17 Two suspects robbed the owner of a Castle Hill, Central business. They pretended to buy things and pushed the owner down to the ground. They robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.
@ 15:21 Thieves broke into a vehicle in Victoria Drive, Victoria Park. They stole a laptop and a computer screen.
@ 19:56 A business in Weinronk Way, Bluewater Bay had an attempted burglary. The suspects treid to steal wood but the police removed them from the site.
@ 20:55 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency at a residence in Madelaine Street, Mangold Park. The owner’s husband had difficulty breathing. The ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital. They confirmed that he had an allergic reaction.
@ 21:25 A house robbery took place at a residence in Napier Road, Humewood. Two suspects gun pointed the owner when he arrived at home. They entered the house and forced the family to lie on the bedroom floor while they ransacked the house. They made off with jewellery, money and the vehicles keys. The suspects fled on foot.
@ 21:49 The police received a tip of that a Openbaring Street, Kamma Park resident was dealing with perlemoen. They arrested a 35 year old man who was in possession of perlemoen worth R500 000.

ON WEDNESDAY 01 SEPTEMBER 2010:

@ 01:19 A business in Tassan Road, Walmer Dunes Industrial had an attempted burglary. The suspects smashed the front window but the burglar bars were still intact. No entry was gained.
@ 01:54 A business in Old Grahamstown Road, Deal Party was burgled. According to the security guard, eight suspects entered the building by kicking in the front door and removing the security gate. The Response Officers recovered an LCD screen, three computer towers and cables around the premises.
@ 02:04 A business in Milner Street, Mount Pleasant was burgled. The suspects used an angle grinder to cut five holes in the roof but no entry was gained.
@ 02:41 A security guard at a business in Burman Road, Deal Party reported that five armed men entered the yard. They were hiding under a tree. When he left to call his control room, the suspects fled.
@ 06:05 A business in La Roche Drive, Humewood was burgled. The suspects broke entered through an unlocked office door. They stole a flat screen tower, but it was recovered in the yard.
@ 06:34 A business in Paterson Road, North End was burgled. The suspects smashed the big window and broke the burglar bars. Entry was gained and they stole chocolates and cigarettes.
@ 06:36 An armed robbery took place at a business in Grahamstown Road, Deal Party. The owner reported that three armed suspects entered the store and gun pointed the owner. They demanded him to handover all the money in the shop. A vehicle was involved in the robbery and no one was injured during the incident.
@ 06:41 A residence in Hillbrow Place, Walmer was burgled. The suspects smashed the office window but no entry was gained. They pulled a flat screen and cell phone through the window.
@ 13:17 The police was called out to a murder scene in Greenbushes. A man was murdered and his body was dumped on the side of the road in Nooitgedagt Road, St Albans.
@ 15:12 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency in Stream Street, Malabar. The owner fainted and his face turned dark in colour. They assisted until the ambulance arrived. It was confirmed that the owner had a stroke.
@ 18:20 Employees at a Cadle Street, Sidwell business reported that they caught a lady stealing from their store.
@ 14:49 A residence in Nassau Street, Theescombe had an attempted burglary. An eyewitness reported that two suspects tried to force open a window. The suspects fled when they saw the owner.

ON TUESDAY 31 AUGUST 2010:

@ 02:23 A suspect stole items out of an unlocked vehicle in Barbet Street, Cotswold. The owner saw the suspect scratching around one of their vehicles.
@ 07:37 A business in Fitzpatrick Street, Cape Road Industrial, Uitenhage was burgled. The suspects made a hole in the wall and gained entry. They made off with a CCTV camera, monitor and fax machine.
@ 10:00 A residence in United Road, Westering had an attempted burglary. The suspects tried to break through the sliding door but no entry was gained.
@ 14:44 A house robbery took place at a residence in Mill Park Road, Mill Park. While the owner was in his study, the suspects smashed two windows and gained entry. They stabbed and assaulted the owner. They made off with a computer. While the suspects were inside the house, the owners wife arrived at him. The suspects ran outside and assaulted her too. The Response Officers managed to arrest one of the suspects and the police caught the second suspect. All the stolen goods were recovered.
@ 15:21 A residence in Beethoven Avenue, Walmer Heights was burgled. The suspects broke into the wendy house and stole copper piping. As they fled, they also stole clothing from the washing line.
@ 15:58 Three female suspects stole an employees handbag in Milner Street, Mount Pleasant. The suspects simply walked onto the premises and fled in a blue Tazz.
@ 16:57 An armed robbery took place in Grahamstown Road, Deal Party. Four armed suspects robbed the business and shot the owner. The injured owner was taken to the hospital.
@ 17:31 A Lourdes Avenue, Lorraine resident tried to commit suicide. The resident took an overdose of pills and cut himself with a blade. The Response Officers assisted until the ambulance arrived.

ON MONDAY 30 AUGUST 2010:

@ 00:15 A business in Leonards Road, Algoa Park was burgled. The suspects cut a hole in the fencing and entered the property. They made a hole in the roof and gained entry. They soon fled and left empty handed.
@ 00:27 Thieves stole Red Bulls from a store in Old Cape Road, Hunters Retreat. The later returned and the Red Bull were recovered. The police arrived and the suspects were released with a warning.
@ 01:12 A business in Stanley Street, Central was burgled. The suspects smashed the sliding door and gained entry.
@ 01:32 A business in Eastbourne Road, Central was burgled. The suspects smashed the glass door and gained entry. They ransacked the premises and fled. The owner was not sure whether anything was stolen.
@ 02:22 A business in Campbell Street, Central was burgled. The suspects forced open the front door and gained entry. They made off with a Plasma TV.

The Response Officers arrested four suspects that was seen waking with a shovel and other stolen items. They owner identified one of the suspects who was involved in the burglary.
@ 19:44 A business in Hammond Street, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects cut open the security gate and kicked in the front door. The Response Officers arrested a suspect in connection to the burglary.

ON SUNDAY 29 AUGUST 2010:

@ 01:31 A business in Worraker Street, Newton Park was burgled. The suspects broke the office window and gained entry. They made off with a flat screen monitor. It appears that a vehicle was involved in the burglary.
@ 01:42 A business in Victoria Drive, Walmer had an attempted burglary. The suspects forced open the front door but no entry was gained. The owner chased the suspect away.
@ 03:55 A business in Fifth Avenue, Newton Park was burgled. The suspects smashed a window and gained entry. They made off with an LCD screen. The Response Officers arrested the suspects on site and the screen was recovered.
@ 04:01 A business in Sutton Road, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects broke the front door, smashed the window and loosened the burglar bars. No entry was gained.
@ 04:23 A business in Wright Street, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects smashed the window but the owner is not sure whether entry was gained.
@ 07:26 A residence in Dugmore Street, Miramar was burgled. The suspects made a hole in the wall of the domestic’s room. They also made a hole in the wall of the main house but no entry was gained.

ON SATURDAY 28 AUGUST 2010:

@ 03:55 Thieves broke into a vehicle in du Plessis Street, Despatch. They stole the front loader, amp and other smaller items.
@ 04:44 A thief tried to steal from a business in La Roche Drive, Humewood. The Response Officers arrived and managed to arrest the suspect on site. This is the second time that the suspect tries to steal from the business.
@ 07:15 A business in Woodpecker Street, Cotswold was burgled. The suspects broke the back window and forced open the burglar bars. Entry was gained and they made off with a computer tower.@ 07:49 A business in Heugh Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects broke the guard house window and gained entry. They made off with the CCTV camera and monitor.
@ 09:15 A residence in Birdlip Avenue, Linkside was burgled. The owner reported that thieves broke into his garage. There were no force marks on the door and the owner suspect that the criminals used a removed. Small items were taken from the garage.
@ 10:05 A business in Burman Road, Deal Party was burgled. The suspects broke the Admin window. It appears that entry was not gained
@ 10:53 A residence in Compton Road, Cotswold was burgled. The suspects broke a small window and gained entry.

ON FRIDAY 27 AUGUST 2010:

@ 06:25 A business in Burman Road, Deal Party was burgled. The suspects smashed a small window. The owner is not sure whether entry was gained.
@ 10:17 A business in Lindsey Road, Korsten was burgled. The Response Officers found the suspect inside the building and arrested him. All the stolen goods were recovered.
@ 10:49 A residence in Percy Owen Close, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open a window and gained entry. They made off with a Plasma TV, DVD player, IPOD, speakers and other smaller items.
@ 12:16 Thieves stole scrap metal from a business in Attree Street, North End. The suspects jumper over the razor wire fence and entered the yard.
@ 22:39 A business in Haupt Street, Sidwell had an attempted burglary. ATLAS and the police arrested a suspect onsite. The suspect was armed with a firearm. The police managed to arrest another suspect who fled the scene. A green Isuzu bakkie was involved in the burglary. No entry was gained into the building and no one was injured during the incident.
@ 23:45 A business in Woltemade Street, Kabega Park was burgled. The suspects climbed onto the roof and entered the courtyard. They broke a window. The owner was not sure if entry was gained or whether anything was stolen.

ON THURSDAY 26 AUGUST 2010:

@ 04:06 A residence in Ferndale Road, Humewood was burgled. The suspects forced open the bathroom window and gained entry. They soon fled thereafter and didn’t steal anything.
@ 04:06 A residence in Ferndale Road, Humewood had an attempted burglary. The suspects forced open the small bathroom window at the back of the house but not entry was gained.
@ 09:49 A business in Main Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects forced open the front door and gained entry. They made off with a flat screen plasma TV.
@ 11:09 A residence in Sherlock Street, Central was burgled. The suspects entered through an open bathroom window and kicked in the door. They entered the bedroom. The Response Officers managed to arrest a suspect in the yard.
@ 11:13 A residence in Upperhill Street, Central was burgled. The suspects forced open the security gate and the kitchen window. Entry was gained and the suspects made off with R6 000 worth of goods.
@ 18:48 Thieves entered the yard of a residence in Pommern Street, Humerail. They stole the webber braai but dropped it as they fled.
@ 20:13 An armed robbery took place at a business in Sutton Road, Sidwell. The owner reported that four armed men entered his store and took the shops money and his vehicle keys. The suspects fled in a white Corsa.

@ 01:45 a business in Marine Drive, Schoenmakerskop was burgled. The suspects forced open the kitchen door and the security gate. The could not get passed the inter leading door and no entry was gained.
@ 03:17 A business in Eastbourne Road, Central was burgled. The suspects broke the front window and gained entry. They made off with a plasma TV.
@ 07:21 A business in Pickering Street, Newton Park had an attempted burglary. The client reported that the suspects made a hole in the side of the premises but not entry was gained.
@ 08:00 A business in Valley Road, South End had an attempted burglary. The suspects stole copper piping from the roof. No entry was gained into the building.
@ 08:23 A business in Cuyler Street, Central had an attempted burglary. The suspects used a brick to smash the front window. No entry was gained into the premises.

ON TUESDAY 24 AUGUST 2010:

@ 01:05 A business in Main Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects smashed a front window and gained entry. They made off with alcohol. The incident was recorded on the CCTV camera and two suspects arrived in a white Honda.
@ 01:12 A business in Heugh Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects removed the front door and gained entry. They made off with four baskets full of cigarettes.
@ 04:58 A house robbery took place at a residence in Zenios Place, Summerstrand. Two suspects forced open the sliding door and entered the house. The owner saw the suspects as they entered their bedroom. They were unarmed and made off with an x-box, laptop and radio. No one was injured during the robbery.
@ 06:56 A residence in Glendore Road, Pari Park was burgled. The suspects forced open the flat let door and security gate. They made off with cables.

@ 18:08 A neighbour reported that he saw a suspect in the yard of a business in Kwaford Road, Struandale. The suspect did not gain entry into the building. The Response Officers had to use pepper spray to subdue the fleeing suspect and managed to arrest him on site.

@ 06:12 A business in Grahamstown Road, Deal Party had an attempted burglary. According to the security guard, the suspects removed a slab from the back wall of the premises. They fled without gaining entry.

@ 10:18 While patrolling, the Response Officer noticed a suspect peeping over the wall of a residence in Church Road, Walmer. The Response Officer approached him and he became aggressive and wanted to hit him over the head with a bottle. The suspect bit the Officer’s finger. He managed to detain the suspect until the police arrived. No entry was gained into the premises.

@ 13:39 A Forest Hill Drive, Forest Hill business owner reported that ten suspects entered his store and took alcohol. They were not armed and fled in a white bakkie. One of the suspects fled on foot and the Response Officers managed to arrest him.
@ 19:35 A business in Heugh Road, Walmer was burgled. According to an eyewitness a suspects through a brick through the window. The Response Officers arrested the suspect and no entry was gained into the premises.

@ 21:46 The Response Officers were informed of a girl that was abducted by a taxi driver. Apparently she was taken to Motherwell and raped. The police and rescue services were investigating the incident.

@ 11:39 An armed robbery took place at a premises in Tulbagh Street, Kabega Park. Two employees returned from the bank and as they entered the yard two armed suspects gun pointed them. They robbed them of approximately R12 000 cash. The suspects fled in a small blue vehicle.

@ 20:56 A house robbery took place at a residence in Seventh Avenue, Summerstrand. Three suspects armed with firearms forced open the lounge window while the owners were busy having dinner. The suspects were wearing balaclavas to hide their identities. They tied the owners up with cable ties and ransacked the house. They managed to open the safe and took two firearms and the safe keys and immediately fled thereafter. The safe alarm activated and the Response Officers were dispatched. The owners had lacerations and minor injuries on their wrists.

@ 07:19 A residence in Westbrooke Street, Mangold Park was burgled. The suspects broke the office window and gained entry while the owner was asleep. They made off with a laptop.
@ 12:11 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency at a residence in Cotswold Avenue, Cotswold. A 92 year old man was ill and could not speak clearly. They assisted until the ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital.
@ 14:42 A security guard in Crawford Street, North End reported that a suspect tried to break into a business. The suspect tried to bite the security guard. The Response Officers managed to arrest the suspect and had to use pepper spray to subdue the suspect. No entry was gained into the premises.
@ 15:47 A residence in Forbes Avenue, St Georges (Central) was burgled. The suspects jumped over the wall by breaking the spikes on the wall. They broke the kitchen window and gained entry. They made off with two cell phones, laptops, passports and flight tickets.
@ 16:28 Two vagrants robbed an elderly man in front of a shop in Avondale Road, Kabega Park. They robbed him of his money and possessions. The Response Officer managed to arrest both suspects.

@ 19:01 An armed robbery took place at a business in Voyle Street, Sydenham. Three suspects armed with firearms entered the business and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects fled in a red BMW. The Response Officers gave chase and managed to arrest the three suspects in the vehicle on the corner of Neil Boss Street and Voyle Street in Sydenham. A firearm and the money were retrieves. They were also in possession of marijuana. The police confirmed that the firearm was stolen from a premises in Dolphin Street, Jeffreys Bay.

ON THURSDAY 12 AUGUST 2010:

@ 04:14 A residence in Millard Crescent, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects tried to force open a window at the back and only managed to crack the glass. They forced open another window and kicked in the burglar bars. The suspects soon fled after gaining entry and nothing was stolen.
@ 07:15 A residence in Union Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects broke the back window and tried to force open the back door. Entry was gained and at the time of inspection, the client could not identify what was stolen.

@ 01:31 A business in Lennox Street, Glendinningvale was burgled. The suspects forced open the front door and gained entry. They made off with a plasma TV, CD player, amplifier, data projector and other smaller goods. The suspects fled in a vehicle but dropped most of the stolen goods as they fled.

@ 09:29 A tenant in Main Road, Walmer committed suicide. His family found him on the couch passed out. The ambulance and police arrived and confirmed that he passed away.
@ 20:08 The Response Officers attended to a medical emergency in Forest Hill. The Response Officers found a man lying on the side of the road. He passed out and foam came out of his mouth. An eyewitness reported that a vehicle stopped next to the man and handed him a drink. After he drank the content, the man got severe stomach cramps and collapsed. The man was taken to the hospital.

ON SUNDAY 08 AUGUST 2010:

@ 00:30 A business in Fort Street, Central was burgled. The suspects forced open the courtyard window and gained entry. They made tried to steal a computer but fled empty handed.
@ 00:39 The Response Officers arrested a suspect
at a business in Kwaford Road, Struandale. The suspect tried to steal copper piping from the yard.
@ 01:39 A residence in Beethoven Avenue, Walmer Heights was burgled. The suspects broke part of the fence and entered the yard. They forced open the study window and kicked in the burglar bars. They gained entry and made off with a brief case and stole washing from the washing line.
@ 02:13 A business in Torquay Avenue, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects kicked in the front door and broke a window. They stole perfume and other cosmetics. Some of the stolen items were recovered.
@ 02:28 A business in Albany Road, Central was burgled. The suspects forced open the front security gate and kicked in the front door. Entry was gained.
@ 13:21 Thieves stole copper piping from a business in Green Street, North End.
@ 10:58 A residence in Bibury Avenue, Linkside was burgled. The suspects broke the window close to the latch but no entry was gained.
@ 11:19 A business in Sutton Road, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects smashed the window and bent the burglar bars. Entry was gained and a computer tower was stolen.
@ 11:30 A residence in Southport Road, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects broke lounge window close to the latch and gained entry. They made off with a plasma TV.
@ 16:52 A business in Albert Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects broke part of the vibrecrete wall and entered the yard. They removed the kitchen door and made off with it. They also stole an aluminium window frame.
@ 19:50 A business in Cottrell Street, Korsten was burgled. The suspects smashed a window and kicked in the burglar bars. Entry was gained and clothing was stolen.
@ 22:13 A business in Kurland Road, Perseverance had an attempted burglary. The suspects cut part of the fence but no entry was gained into the premises.

ON SATURDAY 07 AUGUST 2010:

@ 02:03 A residence in Percy Owen Close, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects forced open the side window and kicked in the burglar bars. Entry was gained and a laptop was stolen.
@ 02:29 A business in Strang Street, Sidwell was burgled. Two suspects gained entry by forcing open the security gate and the front window. As the Response Officers arrived, the suspects fled. The Response Officers arrested one of the suspects in Du Preez Street where he broke into another premises.
@ 04:02 A business in Heugh Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects broke through the office window and gained entry. They made off with a computer tower and monitor.
@ 08:47 A patrolling Response Officer came across a lady who committed suicide in the Main Road, Despatch. She hung herself from a tree in the park.
@ 15:10 An attempted armed robbery took place at a business in High Street, Grahamstown. The owner confirmed that a men tried to rob the business but fled empty handed.

ON FRIDAY 06 AUGUST 2010:

@ 00:27 A residence in Idlewylde Crescent, Walmer Heights had an attempted burglary. The domestic worker heard someone tampering with the bathroom window but no entry was gained. The Response Officer found a knife outside the premises.
@ 02:39 A residence in Christopher Avenue, Charlo had an attempted burglary. The owner reported that someone shone a light through the bathroom window and opened the window wider. The owner pressed the panic button and the suspect fled.
@ 03:34 A business in Kragga Kamma Road, Kamma Park had an attempted roof burglary. The suspects removed some of the roof tiles but no entry was gained.
@ 03:57 Thieves stole a GPRS system out of a truck in Burman Road, Deal Party. They smashed the window of the truck while the driver was sleeping in the truck.
@ 07:38 A business in Sixth Avenue, Newton Park was burgled. The suspects bent the burglar bars at the back office and gained entry. They stole two laptops.
@ 07:39 A business in Sixth Avenue, Newton Park was burgled. The suspects broke a window and gained entry. They made off with a flat screen and computer tower and smaller items.

@ 08:51 A business in Strand Street, Central was burgled. The suspects stacked bricks and used them to gain access to the top floor. The made a hole in the wall and gained entry. They made off with money from the till and bedding.
@ 10:05 A business in Destades Road, Bushbuck Ridge was burgled. The suspects broke the kitchen window and gained entry. They made off with a microwave, CD player and alcohol.
@ 10:25 A residence in Crane Street, Greenshields Park was burgled. The suspects broke the bathroom window and kicked in the burglar bars.
@ 22:05 A business in First Avenue, Summerstrand was on fire. The Response Officers assisted the fire department.

@ 23:20 A business in Voyle Street, Sydenham had an attempted burglary. The suspects broke a window while the owner was in the store. The suspect fled when they heard the owner inside. No entry was gained.

ON THURSDAY 05 AUGUST 2010:

@ 03:00 A business in Beach Road, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects broke the lock and pushed in the window. Entry was gained.
@ 03:40 A premises in Havelock Street, Central was burgled. The suspects used a brick to smash the glass door. Entry was gained.
@ 02:01 A residence in Walton Road, Mill Park was burgled. The suspects made a hole in one of the windows but no entry was gained.
@ 05:00 A residence in Villiers Road, Walmer had an attempted burglary. The suspects tried to break through the window by removing the putty. The owner saw him and pressed his panic button. The suspect fled empty handed.
@ 12:59 A residence in Erasmus Drive, Summerstrand had an attempted burglary. The owner reported that someone was in his yard and broke a window. No entry was gained.
@ 14:22 A residence in Bognor Street, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspect jumped over the perimeter wall and jumped onto the roof. They jumped onto the balcony and entered the house through an open door. He made off with a laptop and I-POD. The gardener chased the suspect and he dropped the laptop and successfully fled.
@ 14:28 The Response Officers assisted the police to arrest a suspect in Bird Street, Central. The suspect broke into the premises and all the stolen goods was retrieved.
@ 15:11 A thief broke into a vehicle parked at a residence in Circular Drive, Woodlands. A window was smashed but the owner could not identify whether anything was stolen.
@ 19:06 A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue, Central had an attempted burglary. The suspects climbed over the gutter pipes and smashed the toilet window. No entry was gained and nothing was stolen from the premises.

ON WEDNESDAY 04 AUGUST 2010:

@ 01:41 A business in Commercial Road, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects smashed a window, removed the burglar bars and gained entry. They made off with a computer tower.
@ 11:11 A blue and white Golf was stolen from a business in Downing Street, North End.
@ 11:37 A business owner in Fourth Avenue, Newton Park caught a suspect stealing from their shop. @ 14:07 A house robbery took place at a residence in Strandfontein Road, Summerstrand. A suspect entered the house pretending to be a student looking for accommodation. The suspect pulled out his knife and tried to stab the owner. He tied her up and ransacked the house. Her friend arrived and the suspect fled.
@ 19:52 A business in Rose Street, Central was burgled. The suspects smashed a window and gained entry. They stole a computer tower and monitor but dropped the tower in the street.
@ 22:46 A business in Seagate Centre, Torquay Street, Summerstrand was burgled. The suspects smashed the front window and gained entry. According to an eyewitness a blue Golf was involved in the burglary. The police found a similar vehicle in Central but could not arrest the occupants due to insufficient evidence.

ON TUESDAY 03 AUGUST 2010:

@ 01:27 An armed robbery took place at a business in Old Grahamstown Road, Swartkops. Three suspects in a white Conquest robbed the staff at the business of an undisclosed amount of money, locked the staff in the bathroom and fled.
@ 19:36 A business in Victoria Drive, Walmer had an attempted burglary. The suspects made a small hole in the kitchen window but no entry was gained.
@ 20:41 A premises in Sutton Road, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects gained entry through two open windows. They tried to take a fan but did not succeed.

ON MONDAY 02 AUGUST 2010:

@ 02:01 A residence in Marine Drive, Schoenmakerskop was burgled. The suspects forced open the back window and kicked in the burglar bars.
@ 03:06 A business in Seventh Avenue, Walmer was burgled. The suspects forced open the sliding door and gained entry.
@ 07:19 A business in Casely Street, Korsten was burgled. The suspects broke a small back window and managed to open the back door from there. Entry was gained.
@ 08:43 Thieves stole copper from a business in Cape Road, Mill Park.
@ 09:11 An armed robbery took place at a business in Walker Drive. An employee was robbed of the company's cash she had intended to bank. The suspects fled in a maroon Bantam bakkie.
@ 09:58 A Kempston Road, Korsten business owner caught a suspect who tried to steal a computer from his company.
@ 19:56 A business in Embassy Street, North End was burgled. The suspects forced open the roller shutter door and gained entry.
@ 20:19 A Cape Road, Kabega Park business owner reported that an armed robbery took place at the business at 03h00. Four armed suspects entered the store and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
@ 21:52 A premises in Richard Road, Sidwell was burgled. The client reported the burglary but was not sure how entry was gained.

ON SUNDAY 01 AUGUST 2010:

@ 00:53 A business in Glendore Road, Pari Park had an attempted burglary. The window was left open and the suspects kicked in the burglar bars in the ladies' bathroom but no entry was gained.
@ 00:58 A business in Main Road, Walmer was burgled. The suspects forced open a window and bent the burglar bars. They got away with two TV's but a TV and a DVD player were recovered in the yard.
@ 01:03 A business in Strang Street, Sidwell had an attempted burglary. The security gate was forced out of the wall but no entry wag gained.
@ 03:16 People were drunk and disorderly at a business in Heugh Road, Walmer. A fight broke out and the Response Officers had to pepper spray the perpetrators. The police attended to the incident.
@ 05:05 A business in Strang Street, Sidwell was burgled. The suspects forced open the steel door and made a hole in the glass.
@ 09:49 An armed robbery took place at a business in Hunters Retreat. Four suspects armed with firearms entered the premises and stole cell phones, jewellery, an undisclosed amount of cash and the owner's car. This is not an ATLAS client.
@ 11:49 A robbery took place at a residence in Arbedour Crescent, Humewood. A suspect walked through the open front door and stole a laptop and a wallet. He fled when the owner saw him. The suspect was not armed.
@ 12:14 An attempted armed robbery took place at a business in Port St Johns Road, Umtata. Two suspects armed with stun guns tried to rob the cashier. The manager and the security guard managed to catch the suspects.
